Because Canada in the 1850's is most prominently known for its vast amounts of gold during the Gold Rush, this is also the time that many people from different countries came to Canada to strike it rich. During this time in Canada, people came from such places as: Scotland, South America, China (labourers), Hawaii (islanders), the USA, and of course the English, Native peoples, and Canadians.
